Paint the Ceiling - for percussion trio

Program notes: Percussive: A sound that is short and loud, like someone hitting a drum. I went to a weeklong music camp for a few years and each night they had a concert. The massive concert hall had these colorful, projected lights that crept and floated along the ceiling. Often, I found myself distracted from the performance, mesmerized by the kaleidoscope above us. Outside a few famous churches, most ceilings are flat and monochrome, but we can paint them again and again with the echoes of music.
